MICROS Communications was first established
in 1984 as a specialized public relations, marketing communications
and advertising services firm knowledgeable in construction, environmental
engineering, financial services, professional services and real
estate.
In the mid-1990s, the firm's founder and
principal, Michael Rosenfeld, was asked by one of his clients to
join the company. He worked in senior management-level corporate
public relations, communications and marketing positions for several
global Fortune 500 corporations during the remainder of the 1990s.
Rosenfeld recognized there was a need for hands-on, experienced
and seasoned business-to-business public relations and communications
professionals available on a consulting basis in a number of "less
glamorous" industries, including energy, engineering, telecommunications,
transportation and utilities.
During his tenure as a corporate executive,
Rosenfeld was frequently the client, seeking to hire such consultants
- not always an easy task. It quickly became apparent that with
a global corporate background and as a former journalist, there
was an opportunity in the market to offer clients hands-on, senior
level experience and credibility in a far more cost-effective manner
than if the company employed such talent. At the beginning of 2000,
Rosenfeld re-established his firm to provide public relations, communications
and marketing services to a variety of industries.
